Spc. Yari Mokri, 26, of Pflugerville, Texas; assigned to
the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade
Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division; died Dec. 6 of injuries
sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his
vehicle while on patrol in Hawijah, Iraq. Also killed were: Sgt.
Jesse J.J. Castro, Cpl. Jason I. Huffman, Spc. Joshua B. Madden
and Pfc. Travis C. Krege.

Capt. Travis L. Patriquin, 32, of Texas; assigned to the
2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat
Team, 1st Armored Division, Giessen, Germany; died Dec. 6 of
injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated
near his Humvee during combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. Also
killed was Spc. Vincent J. Pomante III.

Spc. Philip C. Ford, 21, of Freeport, Texas; assigned to
the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat
Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska; died Dec.
10 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his Humvee in Baghdad. Also killed was Sgt.
Brennan C. Gibson and Pfc. Shawn M. Murphy.
Marine Lance Cpl. Luke C. Yepsen, 20, of Kingwood, Texas; assigned to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died December 14 due to injuries sustained from enemy action in Anbar Province, Iraq. Also killed was Lance Cpl. Matthew W. Clark.

Paul Balint Jr., 22, of Willow Park, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 37th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany; died Dec. 15 of injuries sustained when his unit came in contact with the enemy using small arms fire during combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq.

assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade,
1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Dec. 18 from
injuries sustained when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle rolled over
in Taji, Iraq.
Army Spc. Robert J. Volker, 21, of Big Spring, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Dec. 20 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee in Baghdad.
Hospitalman Kyle A. Nolen, 21, of Ennis, Texas; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; killed Dec. 21 as a result of enemy action in Anbar Province, Iraq.
Army Spc. John Barta, 25, of Corpus Christi, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Dec. 23 of wounds sustained from indirect enemy fire during combat operations in Buhritz, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Stephen L. Morris, 21, of Lake Jackson, Texas; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; killed Dec. 24 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.

Division, Schweinfurt, Germany; died Dec. 26 of wounds sustained
Dec. 25 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his
vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad. Also killed were:
Sgt. John T. Bubeck and Pfc. Andrew H. Nelson.
Army Pfc. Nathaniel A. Given, 21, of Dickinson, Texas; assigned to 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died Dec. 27 in Baghdad of wounds received from an improvised explosive device that detonated near him while on dismounted patrol. Also killed was Sgt. Christopher P. Messer.

combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq. Also killed were Cpl.
Christopher E. Esckelson and Lance Cpl. Nicholas A. Miller.

Richard A. Smith, 20, of Grand Prairie, Texas; assigned
to the 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat
Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Dec. 31 in
Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive
device detonated while on a combat patrol. Also killed was Cpl.
Jonathan E. Schiller.
